Inglobe Technologies released today the ARmedia Augmented Reality Plugin for Nemetschek Scia Engineer.
The new Plugin brings the power of Augmented Reality to the world of Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) through one of the best Structural Analysis and Design softwares available in the market. Scia Engineer is an ideal tool for calculations of structures in any dimensionality from a simple beam (1D), to a single plate (2D), to a whole building (3D) to a detailed analysis of distribution of internal forces over time in structures (4D).
With AR-media™ Plugin, Nemetschek Scia Engineer users are now allowed to visualize their 3D projects using Augmented Reality directly in the real physical space that surrounds them. In a very precise sense, through AR-media™ Plugin, Scia Engineer 3D projects can be visualized out of the digital workspace directly in the users’ environment, by connecting a simple webcam and by printing a suitable code. By means of the exporting feature, users can create and publish augmented reality files autonomously. Files created by this feature can be visualized on any computer with the freely available AR-media™ Player, without the need of having Nemetschek Scia Engineer and the Plugin installed. Users can now create their own Scia Engineer’s Augmented Reality models and distribute them to their clients as independent, stand-alone files and let them experience such models in Augmented Reality in a click.
The AR-media™ Plugin provides users with an advanced visualization functionality that serves two main purposes:
- Study and analyze scaled virtual prototypes in real environments
- Communicate 3D projects immersively and astonishingly
Graziano Terenzi, CEO at Inglobe Technologies, declared: ”We have really enjoyed working with Nemetschek on the integration of a first version of the AR-media Augmented Reality plugin directly inside Scia Engineer. With this new product, continued Graziano, Scia Engineer’s users will be able to study, analyze and present their projects in a completely new way while at the same time better engaging their clients. We are well aware that this release is just a first step towards taking advantage of the full potential of our AR technology inside Scia and, for this same reason, we see this opportunity as a first step towards a closer collaboration with Nemetschek in the future”.
Commenting on the ARplugin, Jean-Pierre Rammant, CEO at Nemetschek Scia Engineer, added that with the ARplugin: “The usability for Scia clients is without limits: presenting a bridge model in its future natural scenery, virtual inspection of structural steelwork in a complex industrial plant, environmental visual impact of steel transmission towers, and overall all interaction between the various disciplines of the AEC world visualized in a real BIM workflow”
The ARplugin comes with the Scia Engineer installation Package and is already selected within the custom installation procedure.
Scia users who want to activate it only need to register on Inglobe Technologies website, buy the license and follow the activation procedure described in the User’s Guide.
